Foster youth turning age 18, statistically would have been in care for 3-4 years. Leaving this system as a young adult poses challenges in sustaining a healthy and productive lifestyle. Moab House will not only provide stable housing with full-time, live-in family care;
Moab House seeks to change adoption as we know it. Most families don't want to adopt young adults, and some families are not equipped to adopt at all. Moab House provides an opportunity to the faith-based community to plant houses in order for their church body to be able to wrap their arms around these youth, in order to grow them up spiritually through valuable discipleship opportunities.
Not only will Moab House provide loving and supportive home environments, it will also promote good citizenship and discipleship. To do this Moab House will work with area businesses to provide internships to our young adults. Moab House will also partner with the local church to provide mentorship opportunities that utilize people's hobbies, giftings, and talents that they can use to share with our young adults in ways that foster safe relationship building.
He showed her that Moab is the place that Moses stood where God showed him the Promise Land. This place...Moab House...is The Place Before the Promise for these young ladies and men.
Psalm 27:10 "Although my father and my mother have abandoned me, Yet the Lord will adopt me as His child."
“Go up into the Abarim Range to Mount Nebo in Moab, across from Jericho, and view Canaan, the land I am giving the Israelites as their own possession."
